Boobs Sucking Not For Men- Says Bagbin

here is a saying that a child is at liberty to play with the breasts of his mother but not the ‘balls’ of his father and this may explain why  Ghana’s Minister for Health, Alban Bagbin, has called on men to stop sucking the breasts of their wives but rather leave the fresh succulent boobs for their babies.
The newly-appointed Health Minister, a married man, said the breasts of women, especially nursing mothers, should be left entirely for the enjoyment of babies and not men or husbands.
Speaking on Monday during a visit to the Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, Mr. Bagbin warned nursing mothers not to allow their husbands to feed on their breasts to the detriment of their newly-born babies.
He insisted that “the breast is for the infants and not men” and advised nursing mothers to try as much as possible to feed their babies with breast milk and nothing else, at least during the first six months after birth to make the children grow healthy.
Many Ghanaian men consider the fondling and sucking of breasts as an integral ingredient in love making and therefore do not spare the breasts and nipples at all during sexual intercourse.
There have been reports of men who are so much addicted to breasts caressing and nipples sucking that they do not spare their wives even during lactation period.

R2Bees' Hot Single “Agyeeii” Disqualified From Ghana Music Awards

The much awaited Ghana Music Awards 2012 nominations are out and a decision taken by the VGMA Board is already raising questions as to whether indeed they took the right decision for the right reasons.

Public Relations Officer Mrs. Juno Abena Ehigie-Dadson, revealed on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” that the VGMA Board has decided to disqualify one of the most popular songs at the moment, R2Bees’ single “Agyeii” which features Sarkodie and Nana Boroo.

According to Juno, the Board disqualified the song based on the fact that it contains sexually explicit lyrics. “This year, only one song was disqualified by the VGMA Board which is the R2Bees’ “Agyeii”. She said several other songs which were mostly sang in Ghanaian languages were listed as containing sexually suggestive lyrics, but after listening to all the songs and getting interpretations from several people, the board voted and a majority of the members thought the lyrics in “Agyeii” were too explicit, so it should be taken out of this year’s awards.

Asked to explain further why, among all the songs listed, only “Agyeii” was taken out, Juno said “We took it out as a song that contains sexually explicit lyrics and violence”. She stressed that this has nothing to do with R2Bees as artistes because they are a wonderful group, the song “Agyeii” is very creative and above all very popular but the lyrics are where the problem is, adding that it was not a one-man decision but that of the entire board.

Juno disclosed that the board had three different meetings on three different days, where they listened to that particular song over and over. They argued back and forth still they finally voted to take it out.

Host of the programme, Kwasi Aboagye, asked why “Agyeii” has been disqualified but “Yenko nkoa” by Eduwodzi which contains similar lyrics, was considered ok, Juno said that issue came up concerning lines in the song which were sung in “Ewe” but after speaking to over seven different individuals, Ewe linguists and ordinary Ewe natives and a majority of them believed that the Ewe lines in the song were sexually suggestive but not sexually explicit. So Eduwodzi’s “Yenko nkoa” which features Stay Jay was passed, with the majority of the board members agreeing to it.

Questioned as to why “Agyeii” as a song has been disqualified whereas R2Bees as artistes have been nominated in the “Artiste of the year” category which is the topmost award among other categories, for the same song which has been disqualified, Nii Aryetey Hammond of Charter House responded that “They are not being awarded for the song but they are being awarded as artistes. It is not based on the song that they are being awarded but the song gave them the chance to enter the categorization. That song has been dropped but as artistes they don’t perform only one song when they are on stage”.

Nii said the board took this decision not to stop anybody from being creative but even if the musicians decided to do profane songs, they should also do radio edit versions which can be aired on radio anytime.

“We are not saying that people shouldn’t come out with explicit lyrics but we are saying that when you do that, let me buy the album and it will be my choice to go and listen to it at home. However, what you put out, you must have a radio edit because when you have the radio edit, I don’t have an issue with it because there is a radio edit and that is what will be entered into the scheme, but not the explicit one”.

George Quaye of GH One Entertainment TV who was also on the show said he believed that board did this to educate musicians and encourage them to do a radio edit of their songs.

“The whole idea is to educate people but we don’t want to limit creativity. If any musician feels that the only way he can pass on a message in his music is to be sexually explicit, we are not saying don’t sing it. You can still sing your explicit lyrics but all we are saying is that the song that will be enjoyed by both the young and old should be a bit polished”.

When Peacefmonline.com contacted R2Bees manager Ike, he said they will not make any comment on the matter.

Meanwhile Peacefmonline.com investigation reveals that other songs like “The thing” by Atumpan featuring Bradez, “Wope dodo” by Yaw Siki, “Last One by Tiffany featuring Castro, “Shahee wowo” by Stay Jay, “Sokode” by Keche were all listed by the board as songs which may possibly contain suggestive words, but after all the deliberations only “Agyeii” was disqualified.

R2Bees were nominated for “Artistes of the year”, “Group of the year”, and “Hiplife/Hip hop artistes of the year” in this year VGMAs.

Nana Boroo, SK Blinks Back Again

Unconfirmed reports say Nana Boroo and SK Blinks have settled their differences and have finished working on a project to be released very soon.

Nana Boroo and SK Blinks made news in the past after the release of the hit song, ‘Ahayede’. Blinks said he recorded ‘Ahayede’ four years ago at a studio in Odorkor in Accra but Boroo pleaded with him that they remake it.

“The beat was unfinished when I reached studio…I ordered all the instrumentation, and sang the ‘Ahayede’ chorus right in the studio, and a verse; after 15minutes, I was done,” Ghanaweb quoted him.
He added that after recording his chorus, he (SK Blinks) was persuaded to add a verse to the chorus, which he did after a little hesitation.

He said after he completed his verse and chorus, he stepped out of the studio to get some water, but to his utmost surprise, he returned to be told Nana Boroo had left. He quickly tried reaching Boroo on his cell phone, but it was also switched off. SK said he did not set eyes on Boroo again until after the song started playing on air.

Somewhere last year, SK Blinks came out publicly to say he was hauling Boroo to an Accra court over a copyright brouhaha between them.
The reason for the lawsuit was a bit sketchy at the time but a source said Boroo included Blink’s voice in his new song for a malaria project without his consent. After the lawsuit claims, SK went on radio and swore that he would make sure Nana Boroo was arrested.

His management stated categorically that it would ensure Nana Boroo was arrested, sent to court and imprisoned for at least 3years.
SK Blink told Happy FM on Saturday that he had forgiven Boroo for ‘stealing’ the Ahayede song; however, he wanted answers to why his voice was used on the new malaria song without his permission.

Manager David Sylvester said on the show that they contacted somebody from Boroo’s camp (name withheld) to meet with his management to find a lasting solution to the problem at stake.

However, he warned that Boroo had not done the right thing so his management would make sure that they dealt with him to serve as a deterrent to others. While that was happening, Boroo was not in the country as he was then cruising in America.

Yvonne Talks About 'Her Man' + The Call From Ex-President Kufuor

Forget about being carried away by her pretty looks, actress Yvonne Okoro has given away a clue to the way to her heart.

Any man who wants to win her precious and delicate heart should be prepared to accept her “silly” attitude. “It’s simple, as the popular saying goes, love me love my dog and for me, my dog is my very jovial attitude,” the belle told Showbiz last Saturday.

According to her, life is full of stress and it was therefore important to have someone with whom you could ‘distress’ explaining that “I’m a very jovial person and though it is not in the public domain, I really love to fool and I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with someone who is too serious and uncomfortable with that side of me’.

Yvonne revealed that, although she is single, she would prefer to date a man who would make her laugh all the time and wouldn’t mind the kind of job he does. Although ideally, dating a man with a nice house or a good business was welcome, all that would not matter to her once they get on well with each other and he could make her laugh.

Known for hit movies like, 4Play Reloaded, Desperate To Survive, The Game, Agony of Christ, Royal Battle, Why Marry and Adam’s Apple, Yvonne says she’s been in a couple of relationships and anytime she realized that the relationship wasn’t going well, she called it quits but made sure the people involved understood her reason for walking away.

Asked what some of the causes of the break-ups had been, Yvonne said lack of communication and sometimes the men refusing to understand the nature of her job.

Asked about what she looks out for when a guy approaches her the first time, the talented actress revealed that she looks out for neatness and politeness. “It is said cleanliness is next to Godliness and I would want to be comfortable with the guy I’m seen hanging out with, so when it comes to neatness and politeness, there is no compromise,” she insisted.

Born Yvonne Chinyere Okereke Okoro to a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother, Yvonne who comes from a family of 10, also revealed she was a very jealous person and though she would allow room for her guys having female friends, she would not want to be taken for granted.

“I am a very jealous person. When I am dating, I give all out so my guy doesn’t have a problem with infidelity. I am a trustworthy person and I’d expect the same from him.”

Although single, Yvonne believes God’s time is the best and would not rush into a relationship she will later regret having. “I really believe when the right time comes, I will surely settle down with the right person but for now, I enjoy my single life and hope to get someone soon.

She’s been linked to John Dumelo, Majid and other actors. She dismissed that as mere speculation saying all the men named were her good friends. She said John cannot date her because both of them are very jovial which was not the best for a good relationship, while Majid is a very married man.

When Showbiz asked her whether any man could seek for her love, Yvonne said she is okay for now and seems to enjoy her single life at the moment but gave a window of hope by urging guys who were attracted to step forward. “Often, men are afraid because they see us on the screen and they shy away because they feel we are way above theme or unapproachable.

However, I want them to know we are humans like them and should be bold to come forward if they do so with a pure heart.

Talking about how her movie career started, Yvonne said she one day picked up her phone and pretended ex-President Kufour had phoned her congratulating her for passing her SSCE. According to her, the mum and all her siblings believed, “my mum actually believed it was former President Kufour who had phoned me, she then told me straight to go into acting and that is how it all begun.

She has had a long walk through the corridors of formal education and she has plans to keep walking. Yvonne attended Achimota Preparatory School, after which she went to the Lincoln Communication School, then to Faith Montessori School - Mfanstiman Girls Senior High School was her next stop.

She later studied and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Linguistics from the University of Ghana, Legon. She continued later at the Universite’ De Nantes in France, where she studied French Civilization and Culture as well as Drama and Marketing.
