How One Of Ghana's Hottest Actors - Dumelo - Celebrated His Birthday

Ghanaian actor John Dumelo celebrated his birthday on February 3. Dumelo’s age is readily not known, but on Friday he received a lot of congratulatory messages from players and pals in the entertainment industry as well as his female fans. That evening, he answered all who sent him birthday messages, saying, “Thanks a lot for the birthday messages. At a point in time I was nearly in tears because I didn’t know I had so much love from you guys. Thanks a lot for making my day. And above all I thank God for bringing me this far. Let me leave you with a quote…’all things are possible through Christ who strengthens me’. Believe in whatever you aiming for and trust me it shall come to pass. It can be done. Love you guys.” Every year, the debonair actor celebrates his birthday with significant activities that benefit society and this year’s was not different.Currently, he is in the United States of America, where he is launching his J Melo fashion brand in ten states. The J Melo fashion brand, which comprises a jewellery line, hair pieces, handbags, casual African apparels and African-print boxer shorts, was first launched in Accra on December 27, 2011. The launch in the United States of America is aimed at getting closer to his fans in the States and also supporting a good and worthy cause back home in Ghana. It is one of John’s ways of giving to back society, as he will use the products to raise funds for his John Dumelo Foundation which is embarking on a school building project in the northern part of Ghana. Last year, as part of his birthday celebration, John sneaked out of town to the northern part of the country to cut a sod to start work on a $40,000 school building project at Baayir Primary and Junior High School, which is a two-hour drive from Wa, the capital of the Upper West Region. That project is part of the John Dumelo Foundation’s plan to help and promote education in the region. Last Wednesday, Dumelo threw a secret birthday party at his Adenta base in Accra. Two years ago, he celebrated the day with a secret party with his family members. Three years ago, he donated items worth over GH¢1000 to the children’s unit of the Battor Catholic Hospital, located off the Aflao-Tema Highway. Among the items he gave were bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, biscuits, tins of Milo, milk, canned tomatoes, sardines, sugar, drinks and children’s clothing. He also donated a cash amount of $500 to the children. John is currently one of Ghana’s hottest actors in Ghana and Nigeria.

Ben Brako Is Nadia’s Dad

Top Ghanaian highlife musician Ben Brako seems to be taking an interest in Ghana’s movie industry and has played a brilliant role in a yet-to-be premiered movie, ‘Be My Guest’.
The movie will be premiered on Friday February 10 at the National Theatre in Accra.
He told NEWS-ONE, “It is a secret role and people should wait and watch for themselves. But I just did a small cameo role. I think I played the daddy of Nadia.”
When asked if the role would give him a chance for a full time movie career, Ben said, “Who knows? That’s for the future to tell. I don’t know.”
‘Be My Guest’ also featured Eddie Blay and other new faces.
The movie has been described as a riveting drama filled with suspense, intrigue, lies and passion.
It is anticipated to bring some freshness to the screen as it stars Chris Attoh and Nadia Buari, two of Ghana’s favourite A-listers, who are starring in a movie together for the first time.
There were reports about the two putting up a splendid performance in some romantic scenes.
The movie is also the screen debut for Omotu Bissong, former Nigeria’s Most Beautiful.
Directed by Selassie Tetteh, co-writer of Sparrow Production’s ‘Checkmate’ and written by Eddie Seddoh Jnr, ‘Be My Guest’ has also been described as a spellbinding movie that will keep viewers glued to their seat from beginning to end.
Also in the movie are Timothy Bentum, Fred Amugi, Zapp Mallet, Louis, McCarthy and David Bangura.
‘Be My Guest’ is a Wide Angle Entertainment production.

Rita Dominic, Ini Edo Brawl Gets Nasty

It is now public knowledge, at least so the reports say, that Rita Dominic does not have best of relationships with Stephanie Okereke, but fresh updates on Rita say she also has a bone to pick with Ini Edo.
“The cold war brewing between two hot Nollywood actresses, Ini Edo-Ehiagwina and Rita Dominic may not be over soon as expected, going by the latest development,” nigeriafilms.com reported over the weekend.
The website’s industry source claimed the two thespians were still maintaining their status quo on what was between them.
“This is because a peace and reconciliation meeting was initiated some days ago by some friends of the two actresses, who were not happy at their enmity, but were further disappointed when the meeting did not hold as scheduled.
“Both Rita and Ini didn’t show up for the peace and reconciliation meeting put up by their friends in one of the regular joints in Lagos,” nigeriafilms.com source said.
“Rita gave an excuse of being busy with her movie, ‘The Meeting’, while Ini said she was attending to some indispensable functions.”
The fight between them got messier late last year when Rita went on twitter to point out an abnormality in a voting system for a best actress award.
The beef between them survived 2011 and as things are going, it might still continue in 2012, though it is still too early to make a conclusion on it.

Okyeame Quophi Gives Stacy Brand New Range Rover As Birthday Gift

Hiplife artiste, Music Producer and Radio Presenter, Okyeame Quophi has decided to surprise his wife through the social network site, Facebook. The former Hitz FM Presenter has given a brand new Range Rover to his wife Stacy Amoateng as her birthday present.

Stacy who is celebrating her birthday today February 8, 2012 will forever remember this day for the rest of her life if information available to Peacefmonline.com is anything to go by.

Peacefmonline.com chanced on a message on Okyeame Quophi’s Facebook wall today, revealing that he has decided to give his wife a brand new Range Rover even though she asked for a new BMW X5 as her birthday present.

This is Okyeame Quophi’s message to his wife Stacy unedited; "HAPPY BIRTHDAY WIFEY! I KNOW U ASKED FOR A BMW X5 BUT I TOPPED IT UP TO A FULL SPEC RANGE ROVER. LOOK INFRONT OF THE MIRROR THE KEY IS THERE. THIS COMES WITH TWO YEARS MAINTENANCE AND SIX MONTHS FREE FULL TANK PETROL. LUV U MORE TODAY THAN EVER".... Okyeame Quophi to Stacy Amoateng.

Based on this, Peacefmonline.com called Okyeame Quophi this morning to confirm if he indeed posted this message on his Facebook wall. He had a big laugh and said we should leave his family alone.

Even though Quophi confirmed leaving the message for his wife, he refused to comment further. 

Peacefmonline.com went further to contact birthday lady Stacy of TV3 “Music Music” fame, to find out if she is already cruising in her new Range Rover, but she denied any knowledge of her husband’s supposed surprise. She however, said she had calls from several people including her brother early this morning asking if she had been on Facebook. She said she left home very early this morning while her husband was asleep and has not being able to visit Facebook so is not aware of any surprise from her husband.
