Actress Goes Nude

Two nude photographs of rising Ghanaian actress Kafui Danku are circulating in Accra.
Reports said though the actress posed for the photographs, they were for her private use but a close friend succeeded in leaking them to the media.
Though reports said one of the photographs showed the succulent breasts of the actress as well as her firm nipples, the one available to NEWS-ONE did not capture these details.
It rather captured the actress seated in lotus position on a fur-like material and wearing a very charming smile that is equally infectious.
It reveals her tattooed arms and smooth skin.
Kafui, though new on the block, has already made a name for herself with the few movies she has appeared in.  She played a lead role in yet-to-be-released ‘A Little Affair’ and though the movie is not out, it is already raising a huge uproar.
She is a determined young lady who was born in Ghana to parents from the Volta region, but she actually grew up in the UK and South Africa before graduating from the Cape Coast University.
Kafui started acting a few years ago and her first movie was ‘Agony of the Christ’, after she was introduced to Venus Films by Roger Quartey.  Since then, she played minor roles in a handful of movies.
The reason, she said, was “I have not been consistent. I travel out of the country like twice every year. So it makes my acting career shaky a little bit. You know how it is”.
When Kafui was handed a lead role in ‘A Little Affair’, reports said she actually spent a huge amount of money on the hairdo she used for the production.
Sources close to her said they were not surprised because she came from a wealthy home where children were born with a golden spoon in the mouth.
“I was really excited about the role. I went to get a very expensive hair because I was really excited about the role and it was worth it. Kalsum Sinare actually paid for my eyelashes. That made me relaxed because it was expensive,” she told NEWS-ONE in a short exclusive interview after a critic screening of the upcoming movie at the Maxlot Hotel in Accra.
Asked how much it cost her to get her hair done for the movie, she added, “Wow, you don’t wanna know. (Laughs)…You just don’t wanna know. Very expensive, may be you will get to know some other time.”
Kafui has featured in other movies such as ‘4play Reloaded’, ‘Shadows In The Dark’, ‘A Reason To Kill’ and yet-to-be released ‘Hotel Babylon

Reggie Rockstone Salutes Glo

Hiplife Grandpapa, Reggie Rockstone has said he cherishes Glo Mobile because the telecoms giant has changed the lives of many Ghanaian artistes with the juicy endorsement packages tit offered to them.
Glo Mobile has not started commercial services in Ghana, yet it has already signed on some 16 Ghanaian celebrities including actors, footballers, and musicians like Reggie Rockstone as brand ambassadors in some of the juiciest deals that such categories of persons could ever dream of.
“Until Glo came to the scene, our bank accounts were virtually empty because Ghanaians do not buy our CDs – they dub our music for free and insult us on top of it but Glo has changed our stories,” he said in an interview with Adom News at a press conference by Glo Ghana to outdoor George Andah as new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Reggie said Glo had shown that it was committed to the welfare of stars in Ghana and not just in using them to push their brand and dumping them like other companies do, adding that with George Andah on board, he was confident things would even get better for the brand ambassadors.
He was particularly impressed with the fact that Glo even selected senior highlife musicians like Pat Thomas, Paapa Yankson and Gyedu Blay Ambolley as ambassadors at their age, and paid them for their performances apart from the contract sums already given to them.
“We don’t cherish our artistes in this country and if not for Glo, none of these senior musicians would probably be enjoying the way they are at this stage of their careers,” he said.
Reggie said he was 48 years old and for him, it was time to enjoy the fruits of his labour but that would not come through sales of CDs but through shows and endorsements, which Glo had made possible for him and others in grand style.
He said he was not worried that because of the Glo deal he and his colleague Glo ambassadors could attend shows organised by other telecom brands, noting, “It is business and the money is good so I do not envy those who attend other shows I cannot attend.”
“When you see my bank account now you will understand why we are not worried – we are ok – Glo makes us feel ok. I used my money to build Rockstone’s Place and I have two clubs now so no complaints. We are not bothered about the delay in Glo’s launch. It is what I call the Jesus syndrome; you know he is coming but you don’t know when, and I am sure Glo will launch in grand style,” he said.
Reggie also touched on Obour’s MUSIGA presidency, saying it was a sign of a new day in the music industry in Ghana. He added that people had queried why he (Reggie) did not contest, saying, “I don’t like politics and the politics at MUSIGA is fierce.”
“I am Oseikrom President and I am content with that – I don’t want any part of the MUSIGA politics – but I am proud of Obour. He started his campaign long ago with songs about youthful presidency and all that and it has paid off,” he said.
He urged Obour and his team to transform MUSIGA into an institution that sought the welfare of musicians in Ghana. CREDIT: Adom News

Stella Damasus Caught With Obafemi Martins

Nollywood reports say actress Stella Damasus and Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins were recently spotted together at the Movida nightclub, where they were both seen rocking the night away.
Stella was spotted wearing a flowery mini gown and when it was time to leave, both personalities left the club separately so as not to draw stares from onlookers.
Stella was last in the news for a rumoured sizzling romance with Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, according to nigeriafilms.com.
The romance, grapevine reports said, started sometime ago when the actress needed the governor’s help. The mother of two, the website alleged, had been benefiting from the romance which started not too long ago.
Further speculations said she also took another Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw to meet the handsome and generous governor, but Kate was rumoured to have gone behind Stella to meet with the governor.
However, Stella was reported to have denied the allegation.
“We gathered further that Stella felt bad about Kate’s secret meeting with the governor and she believed that the governor might have started dating her as well. During our investigations, this reporter called Stella Damasus on phone on September 7, to react to the speculation about her liaison with the governor and Kate Henshaw and she reacted, thus ‘I’ve not met His Excellency, Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi before, I’ve only heard of his name, I wonder why people kept circulating false story about me’,” the website said.
Meanwhile, the Obafemi saga is not categorical as the website is reporting that they were only spotted together.

MUSIGA Opens Register Today

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) President, Obour, with his newly-elected Executive would this morning be at the National Theater in Accra to register new members for the union.
“We would be re-registering our old members as well as registering entirely new members. The exercise is to update our database to help us provide proper benefits to our members,” Obour noted.
He added that the registration exercise was not limited to musicians but also for music producers, directors, composers, writers and anyone whose job had something to do with music.
“Even as arts writers, you all qualify to come and register because it is until we update our date base that we can actually plan. The current register has some three thousand names and more but we cannot tell how many of them are still in active music, how many of them composers or producers or artistes or instrumentalists are and this is not helping us plan well because as MUSIGA members, we expect different types of benefits depending on what exactly we do.
“A more recent and accurate register would help us solve some of these challenges and also know where to channel opportunities for our members as and when the chance arrives. Registered members would be entitled to several benefits including health benefits and legal advice. I mean even coming together to know each other, establish contact and build rapport is a benefit on its own because as you know, together we stand, divided we fall,” Obour noted.

Jackie Appiah and Lauren London
Ghana’s Jackie Appiah is expected to make an appearance in a movie with America’s Lauren London, Ernie Hudson, Todd Bridges, Cynda Williams and Joe Estevez in an upcoming movie titled ‘Turning Point.’
HekCentrik Productions, the makers of Africa’s digital 35mm picture ‘Twisted’, announced their next feature, a Hollywood feature titled ‘Turning Point’.
The movie is executive produced and directed by Niyi Towolawi, Chief Executive of HekCentrik Productions and co-produced by Egor Efiok.
The project has been generating a buzz in recent months amongst people who knew that a Hollywood film starring Nollywood stars in leading roles was in pre-production.
Niyi Towolawi said, “We started principal photography in less than a month and the excitement couldn’t be greater.”
Set in New York, the plot explores ethnic prejudice amongst the various black communities in America. It also centers on a Nigerian investment banker who bowed to family pressure to abandon his American sweetheart for an arranged wife from his country.
His life is turned upside-down when the marriage turns out not too rosy, setting off a chain of events that forces him to confront his reckless past.
It features Ghanaian star Jackie Appiah and other names from Nollywood as Igoni Archibong, Patience Ozokwor , Enyinna Nwigwe, Ebbe Bassey and Chelsea Eze, alongside Hollywood actors Lauren London (‘ATL’, ‘I Love You, Beth Cooper’, ‘Good Hair’), Ernie Hudson (‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘Desperate Housewives’), Todd Bridges (‘Diff’rent Strokes’, ‘Everybody Hates Chris’), Cynda Williams (‘Mo’ Better Blues’, ‘Introducing Dorothy Dandridge’) and Joe Estevez (‘Apocalypse Now’, ‘Spanish Fly’).
The Hollywood production crew used for this movie has worked on numerous Hollywood blockbusters and is keen to bring to life this innovative approach of Africa-centric storytelling.
Filming begins middle of October in America, followed by a trip to Nigeria for additional scenes. “Our crew is very excited to visit Nigeria and a film workshop with Nollywood professionals is being lined up for their time there,” says Towolawi.
Egor Efiok adds, “Writing this movie with Niyi has been a marvelous and bonding experience. My ideas are usually unique and unusual and I found it difficult to collaborate with like-minded people until I met Niyi. We are the perfect tag team and you will definitely be hearing more from HekCentrik Productions and E4 PR in the near future.”
