Amber Rose Hits Back

After all the buzz surrounding Amber Rose’s visit to Ghana to host the Vodafone 020 Live concert, she has sent a message to the world concerning the bad press that has characterized her rise to stardom, which also followed her all the way to Africa.

She posted a touching note on her whosay.com page about how the world sees her wrong doings, and blames it all on the fact that she is a woman. She talks about her nude pictures, dating Kanye West, stripping, and her visit to Ghana to inspire young girls to become better person and society, saying the latter wasn’t just a publicity stunt.

Here are her words unedited: “U do something positive in this industry u get scrutinized I really came to the conclusion that it’s not even about me it’s the fact that I’m a woman. Men in the entertainment industry are praised constantly for their “wrong doings”. if ur a drug dealer and u took care of ur family before ur fame everyone understands. If u get shot in the mist of u hustling ur cool as fuck. If a man’s naked pics hit the internet ppl think it’s cute or funny then just talk about how big he is. A Man can date 20 models at the same time and he is respected by the world and if a girl does it she’s a disgusting whore and a “Star Fucker” Women get destroyed by the media and our peers constantly but I am writing this to specifically speak about myslf.”

Regardless of the fact I dated Kanye for 2 years or the fact I was a stripper at 15 years old or that my most private pics were stolen from me and a new batch hit the internet every week, I am a human being. I’m a daughter, a best friend, a great wife and a all around good person. i never speak negatively about anyone. Have I? NO. U think i don’t want to? I course I do I’m human. But I keep my life positive and I stay strong every time my ex talks about me in his songs or when these blogs tell nothing but lies about me or when ppl say that I shouldn’t be speaking to young girls in Africa. Why wouldn’t I speak to those girls? I AM West African just like them, I grew up poor just like them, most of those girls quit school to take care of their families JUST LIKE I DID. So how the hell do they not relate to my life and I theirs???”

“Talking to those young girls wasn’t a job for me feeding those kids wasn’t a job for me it wasn’t for publicity and I didn’t get paid to do it. I went there cuz I LOVE to help ppl. I DON’T want a pat on the back for shit that I do from my heart or even a thank u it was my blessing to go out to Ghana it is a second home for me now and it changed my life FOREVER! So don’t criticize me and say why is Kanye’s ex stripper Girlfriend in Africa I am so much more then that smh there is a reason why he loved me so much and theres a reason why Wiz loves me so much now did u ever think maybe I’m just a sweet person?”

“Every girl reading this has an ex boyfriend and every guy reading this is most likely dating a girl that has been with more then 1 guy. So what have I done to everyone? Its it because u think I am undeserving of this life because of my past? Or is it pure hatred? If I was a man and dated 2 female artist would that be ok? Thats not as bad right? Bullshit. And the one thing that is extremely upsetting is the fact that woman criticize me more then men do. Look at yourselves before u criticize someone u don’t know Look at the mistakes you’ve made in ur life. ppl are so negative it’s ridiculous But I will continue to be positive, Loving and all about women empowerment and to my Rosebuds I know u guys get it and I LOOOOVE u so much for supporting me through all of this nonsense.”

TV Star Credits Panties & Shoes

NEWS-ONE has received evidence of a popular female news anchor of an Accra-based television station who has bought on credit panties, shoes and hand bags to the tune of GH¢2,000 from two boutiques in Accra.

The female newscaster, whose name has become a household name in Ghana, is said to be owing the two boutiques for some ten months now and has decided to stop picking their calls.

“Look at the text messages on my phone and check the number if it is not her number. You are a journalist and you have her number, she came here for hand bags and shoes and it was a little over fifteen million. I mean the old cedis. She paid some and promised to bring back the rest. It was left with seven million and that is what she has refused to pay.”

The phone number that was shown to NEWS-ONE was the same number the said female news anchor uses. Some of the text messages she had sent from her number was to beg the shop attendant to give her time to pay the money.

NEWS-ONE again gathered that the same news anchor and TV star had bought on credit panties, under-wears and brassieres from another boutique near the Osu Oxford Street. She has also refused to pay the money or even pick her calls when the operators of the boutique call her number.

The said TV anchor is not a very tall person and is noted for carrying herself as a person of influence and affluence.

She drives a Chrysler 300-C and lives in a part of Accra where the rich live and beautiful children play.

Though not proven beyond doubt, she is reported to have dated a top banker in the private sector. What has been proven is that she is a mother of one.

NEWS-ONE would soon publish the contents of the text messages from her phone to the boutique owner.

There Will Be No Miss Ghana This Year

Reliable information reaching GhanaCelebrities.Com has it that, the one time prestigious Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant which has over the years been going down the ditch cannot be held this year for lack of sponsorship reasons.

Some of us saw the way and manner the national beauty pageant was being handled and expressed our concerns but as everything is done in Ghana, few individuals seem to have messed it up for all of us.

Speaking to a former Miss Ghana Queen who preferred to be unnamed, she expressed her disappointment in the way the management and organizers have been handling the event. She told GhanaCelebrities.Com that, the recent years have been hell and messy for Miss Ghana contestants, winners and organizers.

For some years now, Miss Ghana has been rapidly loosing its ratings and I am therefore not shocked that, sponsorship has become difficult to obtain. After all, who wants to sponsor ‘unpopular’ event like Miss Ghana.

George Berthou, Half Ghanaian & Half French Actor Enters The Ghana Industry

The Ghana Movie Industry has seen many changes. Nevertheless, it appears the industry has reached a stage where it has opened its arms for light-skinned or mixed race actors.
Talking about light-skinned actors, Majid Michel, Van Vicker, Frank Artus, Nadia Buari, Juliet Ibrahim, Nikki Samonas, Zynnel Zuh among others come in mind.
A section of the public holds the view that producers seemed to rely on light-skinned actors to sell their movies since Ghanaians were obsessed with fair-looking actors.
Joining the light-skinned clique is George Berthou. George is an actor and an aspiring director. “Actually I’m an actor but I studied directing a bit, so I have directed a movie titled ‘Genesis’,” he told GhanaCelebrities.Com.
His mother hails from the Ashanti Region of Ghana and his father is from France, making him a half Ghanaian and a half French.
The actor, born in France and brought to Ghana at an early age, has been in the industry for little over five years and done over 25 movies and directed one. He believed that, among all his movies, ‘Love & Bullet’ brought him the fame he was now enjoying.
He debunked the assertion that his light-skinned colour had been an advantage to him, however agreeing that there were some light-skinned actors whose acting abilities were questionable and yet very active in the industry.
“It’s not my main reason for being in the industry. I believe I’m blessed with the talent that I must make good use of it before I pass on to my maker. So, it’s not because I’m fair or because of my complexion or whatever. It is but because I want to exhibit that talent I have. That’s the main reason. I can tell you that there are a whole of fair guys out there who cannot act, and if you cannot act, why are they still there?”
According to George, after getting the opportunity to feature in his first movie, he decided to further his studies by taking a course in directing. George doesn’t look up to any actor in Ghana but considers Majid Michel as the best in Ghana.
Aside English, George speaks fluent Twi and little French. He has featured in movies such as ‘Love & Bullet’, ‘Genesis’, ‘No Sex No Wedding’, ‘Sika Ba’ and ‘Dirty Game’.

Kill The Movie Or I Kill You – Priest Warns Actors

A traditional priest of the Sabaliki shrine in Sandema in the Northern Region, Nana Sabaliki, has threatened to kill actor, Abraham Kofi Davis aka Salinko for taking on his character and mimicking him in a yet-to-be-released movie, Diawuo.

According to the priest, not only does the actor Salinko bear his name in the movie but the character also dances “azonto” which dance he sees as inappropriate and tarnishes the image of his god.
Also on the ‘hit list’ of Nana Sabaliki are Michael Duah aka Munche, executive producer of the movie as well as actors Emelia Brobbey, Kwaku Manu, Akrobeto and Wayosi.

In a telephone conversation with Showbiz last Tuesday, Nana Sabaliki said he will kill all the cast in the movie as well as the executive producer if the film hits the market. “I have ordered the executive producer of the movie, Munche, to see me but if he refuses and goes ahead to release the movie, then I would have no choice than to kill all of them” he said.

The threats from the priest seems to have unnerved some of the actors who play roles in the movie. Salinko, for example, told Showbiz that when he suggested the name, Sabaliki, to be used for his character in the movie, he had no idea it was the name of an existing god. “It was familiar to me as the name of a great warrior in my village Tafo Pankrono in the Ashanti Region. I never knew there was a deity by name Sabaliki otherwise I wouldn’t have used it”, he said.

Salinko said it would save all the actors involved if the movie was not released on the market. “The producer shouldn’t be worried about losing the money he spent in making the movie but he should be more worried about our lives. If the priest is really angry then Munche should consider withdrawing the movie from the market before any actor dies”, he added.

Emelia Brobbey shared the same sentiments with Salinko. She said ever since she heard about the priest’s intentions to kill them, she has known no peace. “It is death we are talking about here, I have had sleepless night ever since I heard about it,” Emelia said.

Wayoosi, on the contrary, is not bothered by the threats of Nana Sabaliki. “I know I serve a great and living God who is powerful than Nana Sabaliki. There is nothing he can do”, Wayoosi told Showbiz over the phone last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Munche is unfazed by Nana Sabaliki’s threats. He told Showbiz that “I can’t withdraw a movie I have spent close to GH¢90,000 on just because one traditional priest says so”. According to him, if Nana Sabaliki is willing to pay him the money he spent on making the movie, then he would consider withdrawing it from the market.

Munche’s immediate problem however has to do with some of the members of cast of the movie who constantly call him to ask him to withdraw the movie because of the priest’s threats to kill them.

I Only Take Alcohol To Get Naughty In The Bedroom - Van Vicker

Renowned Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker has stated that he does not drink or smoke but sometimes takes a little alcohol in the bedroom to get naughty or spice things up with his wife because love life at times gets stale, nothing more nothing less.

Speaking on the “Stars on Parade” Segment on the 3 to 6 Show on Citi FM on Saturday, Van Vicker dispelled perceptions about him being a womanizer saying he is stuck to only his wife, Adjoa Vicker.

Van Vicker has also cleared the air about his rumoured fight with Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh, which apparently took place while filming on set.

According to Van Vicker, he was recovering from malaria and flu and objected to going out to take his lines with Tonto, due to his condition.

He said all he heard was Tonto casting insinuations and reigning insults on him for no apparent reason.

The fight, according to Van Vicker did not turn physical because he told her he wasn’t going to touch her which he never did. Regardless of the incident the actor says he is still on good terms with the sultry actress.

Van Vicker also said he is ready to shoot 10 movies come 2012. He said if some Ghanaian producers could do movies within 3 days or a week, 10 movies in a year is feasible.

The Glo Ambassador, who recently renewed his contract with the telecom company, already has three directed movies under his belt and a fourth one “Distance” yet to be premiered in Ghana hopefully in December admitted that he encounters a lot of challenges when it comes to production for a movie.

The father of three is yet to be accepted into the Film Producers Association for the reason that they (FIPAG) wanted to establish his nationality and other matters, hence the long delay.

Touching on him being ditched by ace Nigerian actress Stella Damascus, he said he originally planned that she would be part of his cast of his new movie but it happened that when shooting began, Stella Damascus fell sick and had to leave because things could get worse and probably disrupt the schedule of shooting.

He also used the opportunity to call on government and all corporate bodies to come on board the movie industry to push the industry further.

Amber Rose Apologizes To Ghanaians

Controversial American model and host for the Vodafone 020 Live concert, Amber Rose has explained that she didn’t mean evil, concerning certain comments she’s made on Twitter since her arrival in Ghana which have sparked a lot of disapproving responses from Ghanaians on social media.

On Sunday, she posted photos on her page on whosay.com with the comment, “#TeamAmberRose & I went to a Village in Ghana to feed the children today we laughed, cried & the locals made us really cool bracelets it was an amazing experience #GiveBack” ,which was automatically fed into her Twitter page. The picture and comment has solicited a lot of response from Ghanaians who were largely unhappy that the first image of Ghana she shared with the world was that of poverty and not the beautiful parts of the country -- thus reinforcing the western stereotype.

In an interview, she apologized saying, “People have to understand that this is my first time in Africa. This is not my culture. I have never been here so if I said anything to hurt anyone’s feelings then I am very sorry. I saw that a lot of people on twitter said ‘don’t just show the poverty, show the rich people’. But for me, the rich people aren’t doing anything for the little kids and the people that are living in poverty so I don’t want to go hang out with the rich people.”

“I wanted to see the kids in poverty. I grew up very poor. So I wanted to go see them, help them, talk to them and inspire them to let them know they could possibly be somebody great. So I want everyone in Ghana to know that I wasn’t saying that Ghana is a poor country and no one should come here. Anyone that I have spoken to about Ghana since I have been here, I have been saying that it’s such an amazing place. And I’m sorry for not posting pictures of rich people, but it just wasn’t for me to do”

Amber agreed that a lot of the media focus on Africa back home in America is on the poverty and added that since she’s been in Ghana; she has noticed that it isn’t the case. She commented that she had noticed that in Ghana people are either extremely poor or extremely rich with no middle class; and she hopes that the rich people would do a lot more to help and support those living in poverty. She said she is however enjoying her Ghana experience, “It’s been totally amazing; you guys are so sweet and so welcoming and I am just really happy to be here. It’s been such an experience”

Although many people find it hard to swallow that Amber Rose can be an inspiration to young girls in Ghana, she indeed met female school children from Nima at the Islamic Training Institute (J.H.S), Monday afternoon. After her visit, she posted online as follows:

“I went & spoke 2 young girls at an Islamic school in Ghana today about Girl Power education & not falling into the wrong lifestyle as I did as a young girl. I made a lot of mistakes in my life & they’ve come back to haunt me, but now I have the opportunity 2 talk to girls all over the world & to let them know that they should chose a better way & not follow in my footsteps. These girls are Awesome & it was a true blessing meeting them today they have inspired me! #InspireGirls #GirlPower”

Some of the other tweets she’s made so far from Ghana include a hearty message to her boyfriend Wiz Khalifa and a request for a Ghanaian/African designer to clothe her for the Vodafone 020 Live Concert.

Al-Qaeda Targets Ashley Cole's Ex-wife Cheryl

CHERYL Cole will only have herself to blame if she is killed by al-Qaeda, vile hate preacher Anjem Choudary has warned.

The cleric said the former X Factor judge is a target after she visited British troops in Afghanistan last week and paid tribute to their work.

Asked what he would think if the singer was a terror victim, he said: "I'd say it's something she's brought on herself." He added: "I find it completely outrageous that Cheryl Cole can go to Afghanistan and start praising the soldiers. "The more she is seen as the sweetheart of the forces and the more she is involved in Afghanistan, the more she will create enemies among the Muslims.

"She will only have herself to blame for the repercussions on her own security." And he warned: "High-profile figures are not beyond the reach of al-Qaeda and the mujahideen."

Brave Cheryl, 28, visited our troops at Helmand's Camp Bastion, saying: "I'm delighted to be here to recognise all the hard work they do.

"Every one of them is a hero in my book."

Miss France Throws Salt At New Miss Universe, Miss Angola

When will certain people see Africans as capable of being genuine winners? I hate it when an African achieves something and certain silly people find it extremely difficult to accept the achievement or winning simply because it is an African receiving the glory…

Miss France who participated in the Miss Universe competition and lost it all to the newly crowned Miss Universe -Leila Lopes is not pleased with the fact that someone from Angola was the winner.

Miss France seems to suggest in a recent comment that, Leila Lopes from Angola won the crown based on the fact that the competition was held in Brazil. (Remember both Brazil and Angola are former Portuguese colonies)..

This is what Miss France told French Magazine ‘Premiere’ about Miss Angola-Leila Lopes win …“She was the only girl I didn’t know very well. We didn’t see her much; she was very discreet. She was often in jeans and not wearing makeup. We were all surprised by her win. Many girls made efforts that were not rewarded. I don’t know, something is missing in her temperament. The fact that the competition was held in Brazil surely played a role.”

Really? Damn!

******************************

Miss France Criticizes Winner, Miss Angola

**

It looks like the new Miss Universe has a hater on her hands! After being the first black woman to win Miss Universe in 13 years, Miss France has some not so kind things to say about Miss Angola:

“She was the only girl I didn’t know very well. We didn’t see her much; she was very discreet. She was often in jeans and not wearing makeup. We were all surprised by her win. Many girls made efforts that were not rewarded. I don’t know, something is missing in her temperament. The fact that the competition was held in Brazil surely played a role.”

How very lady like…
