Mercy Johnson’s Court Marriage Fails To Hold

According to plans earlier released by Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, her court marriage was scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 25, but according to reports reaching us nothing of such took place.

Mercy’s husband to-be, Prince Okojie was said to have just secured an official documentation from the court finalizing the divorce from his estranged wife Lovely. According to a release from the couple’s publicist, Bigsam Media, the divorce on a marriage that was conducted in Italy was finalized on Tuesday 23 August, 2011, at the Igueben Area Customary Court, in Benin, Edo State (Jokers).

Now that the event that should legalize the marriage has failed to hold, every other part of the ceremony is just “come and chop” with no legal binding whatsoever.

Now let’s see what moral ground Christ Embassy Church has to go ahead with a marriage that is illegal.

I Didn’t Have Sex With Abeiku Santana

Screen goddess Jackie Appiah has denied that she is having a love affair with ace radio presenter Abeiku Santana, following a sex role she played with him in an upcoming movie dubbed ‘Death After Birth’.

In the said movie, Abeiku Santana was seen busily ‘banging’ his waist behind Jackie Appiah and groaning, “Wow aaoo! Give it to me…I hear you are good, wow.”

At that moment, the lady’s face didn’t show, so it was difficult to know who she was.

But in the next scene, Jackie, who played Zynnell, was seen demanding money from Abeiku for her services. But he refused and pulled a gun which made her run away.

The love scene caused a storm in the studios of Okay FM some weeks ago when Abeiku Santana and Kwame Amoo, anchor of ‘Akika Akika’ gossip segment on Abeiku’s show, nearly traded blows whilst on air.

Reports said the two exchanged invectives on the show as tempers flared.

Kwame Amoo, sources said, stated that there was a story that a popular radio presenter had sex with a famous actress.

But before he could continue with the other details of the story, Abeiku allegedly interrupted and started insulting him and asked why he went on air with such information about him.

Callers reportedly lambasted Abeiku for his action.

On Wednesday, Jackie Appiah told NEWS-ONE that she did not have sex with Abeiku Santana as it was being speculated.

“Nothing happened. It was a make believe. We tried our best to make it believable. He is a professional and an interesting person.

It was good experience acting with him. But nothing happened,” she told NEWS-ONE after the movie’s press premiere at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra.

She said the new movie opened another chapter in her acting career as it was the first time she played a prisoner. She hoped the viewing public would learn some good morals from it.

This is not the first time Jackie has been in a sex scene of a movie. She was in sex scenes in ‘Heart of Men’ and Shirley Frimpong Manso’s Perfect Picture with Chris Attoh.

The new movie ‘Death After Birth’ is a tale of tragedy, pain and sorrow. It exposes some of the silent ordeals women and young girls go through in their journey through life.

Adjorlolo Lover Killed

Angry youth in and around Awoshi, a suburb of Accra, would soon hit the streets to demonstrate against a private hospital in the area over the death of Charity Agyeiwaa Nyarko.

Charity had concluded wedding plans with actor Kofi Adjorlolo before her death.

Kofi Adjorlolo and Charity had planned on getting married in a few weeks but the lady died at a private hospital at Awoshi last Sunday morning, NEWS-ONE has gathered.

Mr. Adjorlolo is reported to have been in a state of shock since last Sunday.

His two previous marriages hit the rocks, therefore the actor put all his hopes in Charity and planned that they would live happily together after their wedding.

Though NEWS-ONE is yet to ascertain the official cause of death, angry neighbours of the late Charity have accused the hospital of being responsible for her death.

The enraged youth have blamed the death on alleged “incompetence” of the hospital, saying a lot of people in the neighborhood had died under similar circumstances at the same hospital.

As at press time yesterday, some youth in the area were threatening to go on a demonstration against the hospital and its staff.

“When you see the hospital, it is a very nice hospital. It belongs to this (they mentioned the name of a well known church) so they don’t give blood to their patients but they do operation.

The fact of the story is that they set this CCTV camera where they do operation. The main doctor who owns the thing is at 37 Hospital.

He does not come here, so when there is an emergency, they call and he directs them on the CCTV.

We are really annoyed. We wanted to go demonstration yesterday. But we want to make sure the right thing is done.

We will inform the police first so that we get a date and do it well and big time,” one Joseph, popularly known in the area as Carl Marx, told NEWS-ONE.

Kofi Adjorlolo lost Charity Agyeiwaa Nyarko, popularly called Mother, on Sunday.

Charity, 49, died at the Mary Lucy Hospital at Awoshie whilst undergoing an operation for fibroid.

Kofi Adjorlolo confirmed the death to NEWS-ONE.

“She went for a fibroid operation and she couldn’t survive it.

She collapsed and was subsequently put on oxygen, then finally operation but she died in the process,” Adjorlolo told NEWS-ONE in a telephone conversation.

“I’m feeling so sad. I have had two failed marriages in my life and I thought she was the right person that I have found so far.  I love her so much and I have been living with her for the last seven years.

It is now that we are planning our wedding. Plans are afoot but man proposes but God disposes,” an almost sobbing Kofi Adjorlolo added.

When asked if he shared in the opinion of the angry youth, Kofi Adjorlolo said he had no personal opinion on the allegation, although he revealed that a lot of people had told him that they had lost a lot of friends who went for similar surgical operations at the same hospital.

Reliable information reaching NEWS-ONE indicates that beautiful songstress Mildred Ashong, popularly known as Eazzy, has finally found the man of her dreams after 3years without a man in her life.

REVEALED; REAL REASONS STAR ACTOR JIM IYKE AND KATE HENSHAW LOST OUT OF GLO DEAL

Telecommunications giants,Globacom Ltd recently concluded the annual assessment of its brands faces, otherwise known as Glo Ambassadors and at the end of the day, the name of 2 prominent Nollywood stars in its usual line-up of Ambassadors were conspicuously missing.

Effectively, Kate Henshaw and Jim Iyke have been dropped as Glo Ambassadors.

Though there are multifarious parameters for the assessment of the activities of Glo Ambassadors, including inputs from different departments of the company and public relation experts, we can reveal to you that the dropped Nollywood stars have been found wanting in their roles as Glo Ambassadors, hence the refusal to renew their contracts.

The company is keeping mum on its decision to drop the two stars but while most of the other Glo Ambassadors have represented the company at numerous events, Kate Henshaw seemed to be riding her own waves as she has hardly answered the calls of the company.

From our own tracking, the only Globacom event which Kate Henshaw has honoured for a very long time was the official launch of the company’s submarine cable known as Glo 1 in October last year. Apart from her presence in one of the recording of Glo Naija Sings last year as a Glo Ambassador, Kate Henshaw Nuttal has been nowhere to be found, near a Globacom event for a very long time.

Jim Iyke on his part, has obviously had to grapple with a lot of image issues for a very long time and it was obvious that the company would decide to do away with his services as a brand face. He has also hardly been present at Globacom events.

Meanwhile, though Globacom has replaced Jim Iyke and Kate Henshaw-Nuttal with two new movie stars,it has also expanded the portfolio by one.

The newest stars to sign deals with Globacom as Ambassadors are Kunle Afolayan,Odunlade Adekola and Jamila Umar Nagudu.

These stars were picked by Globacom to broaden its reach in the Yoruba and Hausa language movies industries.

The three new stars were picked after a meticulous assessment by the company which reinforced their pivotal position in the entertainment world.

It was also a testimony to how well they have done for themselves.

Being a Globacom Ambassador comes with a lot of perks. Apart from the contract fee, the brand faces are paid when they are invited for Globacom events, especially outside their area of residence.

They are also paid allowances for taking part in Globacom commercials. When a commercial is being shot outside the country, apart from their allowances, they are flown with their managers on first-class to locations outside the country.

These Ambassadors also benefits from the magnanimity of the Chairman of the company, Dr Mike Adenuga Jnr when they impress him with their output in commercials.

However, to remain a Glo Ambassador, you need to continue to be relevant in the industry from which you were picked. Project Fame’ Hosts In Hot Romance

Widespread reports in Nollywood indicate that actor and TV host Joseph Benjamin is romancing sultry actress Adora Oleh, his co-host on popular TV programme Project Fame.

However, the young man has denied it all, saying that the rumuors were baseless and lacked merit.

Joseph Benjamin started as model for Fanta Chapman, a popular soft drink in the 90s, and was a child actor in the popular TV series ‘Tales By Moonlight’.

He was the host of Project Fame and now the lead actor in Mahmood Ali-Balogun’s new film, ‘Tango with Me’. His appearance in two episodes of ‘Tales by Moonlight’ was his first experience in acting.

Subsequently, he played one of the extras for the movie ‘Crossroads’ in 1991, which happened to be his first movie featuring Ejike Asiegbu, the past President of Actors Guild of Nigeria and Victoria Inyama.

Since then, he has featured in a number of movies and series. Among them are ‘Deadly Mission’ with Zeb Ejiro, Robert Peters and Kate Henshaw, Mnet’s ‘Edge of Paradise’, ‘Super Story’, ‘Tinsel’ among others.

From Igala, in Kogi State, he attended primary school in Benue State and had his secondary school education in Lagos State.

He had a diploma in computer literacy from an affiliate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). From there, he started taking professional courses.

Every time he enrolled for professional courses, he found out that the passion for entertainment and showbiz always took over.

“At some point, I told myself, enough of this confusion; I decided to strike the balance that I have always looked forward to.

One of the most known names in Ghanaian radio, television and movies, Chris Attoh has revealed that he has turned down several acting offers presented to him by ubiquitous movie producer, Abdul Salam Mumuni.  Chris was answering a question about his transition into acting on ‘Allo Tigo’ with Jon Germain over the weekend, where he commented that he is very choosy and picky about the type of roles that come his way hence, the delay in his transition into acting.

Chris Attoh said he had received several roles from Abdul Salam Mumuni in the past but they weren’t movies he wanted to star in. He however threw an open invitation to the producer on ‘Allo Tigo’ to call him if he has any great movies in the works.

Still on his journey into acting, Chris said his first acting role was on Kwaku Sintim Misa’s TV drama series, Divorce Court  where he played the husband of Shirley Frimpong-Manso ,who later gave him his first major movie role in ‘Life and Living It’.  He also revealed that he had a kissing scene with Shirley in the series, which feels wrong thinking about now that Shirley is in a romantic relationship with his brother, Ken Attoh.

Chris can be seen on the M-net Africa produced soap opera, Tinsels weekdays on M-net, where he plays the egotistic wheelchair-bound, Kwame.

Legon Girl Delivers Baby Girl For Nigerian Rapper Wizkid

News coming in from Nigeria suggests that 21 year old Nigerian music sensation, Wizkid has grown from a boy into a man by impregnating an undergraduate named Sola. According to the reports, Sola who resides in Magodo, Lagos was studying in the University of Ghana, Legon and has delivered a baby girl for the young rapper. According to the reports, close friends and associates of Wizkid have remained silent on the issue, while his parents and mentors are insisting on a DNA test for confirmation, before fully admitting the child is for the rapper. Wizkid is reported to have tweeted last Friday that “Hey All.. Got sumthin to tell yall. In life, there are those times when you wonder about the wrong decisions you’ve made… This is one of those times for me. I realize that I haven’t always lived up to everyone’s expectations from my loved ones to the immense love from my fans. I am sorry. Please continue to pray for me. Marc Anthony Said to Be Harassing J.Lo After Split

Is the singer finding it hard to say goodbye?

It’s been a month since Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced their separation. But now comes the drama of letting go, especially on the part of Mr. Anthony.

Us Weekly reports that the Grammy-winning singer isn’t quite ready to give up his marriage to J.Lo.

“He calls her non-stop, especially when he’s drinking,” said an inside source. “Marc is constantly harassing her and doesn't think she'll go through with the divorce.”

Marc’s representative denied the phone calls had taken place. On August 10, he and Lopez put on a “united front” so that he could spend time with their three-year-old twins, Max and Emme, in Southampton, New York.

Earlier this month it was reported that Marc was begging Lopez to take him back with a source saying: "His mood shifts from blaming her to begging her to take him back to telling her she is destroying his life.”

The source also said Marc’s behavior, especially while hashing out details of an impending divorce, has been part of a plan. "He's being difficult on every little point...,” the insider said. “He wants to prolong things so she reconsiders.”

R. Kelly Booed at Children's Parade

Many parents in the audience didn't take kindly to Kel's participation, booing and jeering at the hometown superstar. “It doesn’t seem right,” one mom told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I don’t think I’d have picked him.”

But other adults in attendance were more supportive of the controversial singer. “You’re still my baby, no matter what you did!” yelled one fan.

Kelly may be innocent until proven guilty, but whomever thought it was a good idea to make someone indicted on nearly forty counts of sex with minors and child pornography the grand marshall of a children's parade may not have a job on Monday.
