Abodam Scares Naija Stars

NEWS-ONE can confirm that a number of Nigerian music stars arrived in Ghana last night for Saturday’s ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ show and several more will be arriving to address a pre-event press conference today.
The show brings together musicians and DJs from Ghana and Nigeria on one stage, on one night, to entertain a packed auditorium and the performances have usually been seen as a ‘who-is-who’ contest between the two groups.
Indeed, organizers for the event, Empire Entertainment, have made it official that the DJs’ section would be a straight battle between Ghana and Nigeria and the audience would be the judges.
Saturday’s event would be the second edition of the supposed international music contest and already there is a sharp rivalry among music fans from both countries and a general debate over which performer would out-do the other.
Reports said moments after the visiting stars checked into the Golden Tulip Hotel  last night, this debate sparked among them and though they were confident of out-performing their Ghanaian counterparts, they were not too sure of Ghanaian hiplifer Kwaw Kese aka Abodam of Madtime Entertainment.
Nigeria would be represented by the Undisputed Man Mr. Incredible (M.I.), who is currently receiving great reviews all over the continent and doing great stuff.
Also from Nigeria would be Brymo, whose song ‘Ara’ is doing great in Ghana; he did ‘Oleku’ with Ice Prince and he has a huge fan base here.
A new kid on the block, Davido, is also from Nigeria, just as the sexy, saucy Tiwa Savage, who is a club banger known for a lot of songs.
On the Ghanaian  list are heavyweights like R2Bees, Kwaw Kesse, Kakkie, Guru, 4×4, Tiffany, Chemphe and several artistes  who have opted to rock the stage for free just to make sure the Ghanaian squad outperformed their  Nigerian counterparts.
The challenge, according to Empire Entertainment, would be whether they would have enough time for all the performances.
They have therefore decided to start the show early and are actually considering doing an all-night-long affair.
It is not surprising that Kwaw Kesse has become an issue among the Nigerians.
Reports said he has actually charged a $10, 000 performance fee just for the night and is currently rehearsing for the performance of his life.
Last Saturday night, Empire Entertainment took delivery of a number of top-of-the range luxury automobiles brought into the country, just for the concert on the 30th of June, by highly reputed luxury automobile company, Euro Tour.
The company is partnering with Empire Entertainment to give all artistes on the bill an experience of a lifetime.
The high-end cars, mostly black, include the Rolls Royce Ghost model, Bentleys, and Maserratis.
The cars are to be used in transporting all performing artistes, both local and international, days to the event.
All artistes will therefore be chauffeured to the venue instead of going through the stress of having to drive their own cars.
Another introduction would be the artiste lounge, which would replace the regular backstage set up known for Ghanaian concerts.
Performing artistes will therefore be feted in grand style before and after their performances on the night.
This is aimed at ensuring that artistes from both countries are comfortable and well catered for to energize them to give off their very best performances on the night, as well as break certain norms in the event business.
Meanwhile, tickets for the June 30 event are selling hot at GH¢70 regular and GH¢150 VIP at Koala, Silverbird lifestyle store, Frankies (Osu and Accra mall), MTN Stores (Osu and Accra Mall), RLG Store (Osu), Joy FM front desk, Airport Shell, Baatsona Total, Community 11 Shell, Jane Ann supermarket and Empire Entertainment head office at Laterbiokorshie.

Edem writes to his fans

Dear Fans, A few years ago, I had a dream. A few years ago, while at Bishop Herman School, I dreamt I will be one of the greatest musicians from Africa. Right after school, fate and hard work got me into music.

I just sang what my heart felt, and you, received me with open arms and embraced me. You welcomed me and have helped me to remain grounded.

From Bougez, through to Bra Fremi, Nyornuviade, Too Much, Legacy, Kate, Ghetto Arise, Warrior for Peace, Not on my Level and Over Again, you have showed me a love and support so true.
Granted, there have been some downfalls along the line, situations which could have been avoided and others which just had to happen to strengthen me and to show your support for me as unrelenting.
We all thirst for victory but without trials, we cannot be victorious. I know I let you down on some occasions. I am sorry. I really am. As much as I can, and with God as my Help, I hope to grow more sensible from each mistake and bad experience.
There are a number of people too who do not like me. Well maybe they do but they do not want to accept it. They spend time on my Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/edemonline) wall and on twitter (www.twitter.com/iamedem} saying all sorts of things against me. Sometimes I ignore, but am human, and some do get to me. I’m comforted with the fact that I cannot please everybody.
However all such people should know that I appreciate their sharp edged tongues because they keep me on my toes and their negativity fuels my drive.
The future is what we all hope for. We are not guaranteed of it yet we need to plan for it. I am humbled by your love and your support. I hope to reach higher levels and while am still working hard, I finally want to encourage you all to reach for your goals as well. Once again, thank you for your support.
GOGET’EM! !!!!!!!!!
Regards, and love always,
Edem.

Omoni Oboli Is Nollywood Best Public Relations Actresses

According to Nollywood reports, Omoni Oboli is the only actress with the most excellent public relations in Nollywood.
Nigeriafilms.com reported that Omoni Oboli had been rated the Nollywood actress with the best public relations and her husband Nnamdi was said to be the secret behind her superb public relations.
They have been married for 12 years and still waxing stronger as one of the most solid celebrity couples in Nollywood.
She has also acknowledged the exemplary role of her husband in her successful professional life.
Public relations is not well appreciated in Nigeria, because many Nigerians do not appreciate the importance, relevance and significance of public relations in both private and public sectors.
That is why Nigeria has a very terrible image on the international scene, and Nigerians are being labeled as fraudsters and drug peddlers in the international community when only very few Nigerians are engaged in these crimes. Unfortunately, the appropriate public officials in government and corporate affairs managers in private companies have not performed up to the expectations of the best practices of public relations.
Nigerian corporate affairs managers don’t even know how to reply important emails or letters and their companies end up with bad public relations as can be seen in the common misunderstandings between them and their respective customers/clients in their host communities.
Most of these corporate affairs managers or public relations officers forget that they are the public image of their companies.
Many of them even lack basic company manners when compared to their foreign counterparts or peers.
Therefore, it is really imperative to emphasize the urgency of this matter in our private and public lives and in particular where public relations would be of immense benefit to Nigeria and Nigerians locally and internationally, such as in Nollywood, the most popular Nigerian brand in the world which is seen as the mirror of Nigeria and Nigerians in the global village.

Thank God For Idiots

Tonight at the National Theater in Accra, the most hilarious comedy of the year so far, ‘Thank God For Idiots’, comes off.
NEWS-ONE found the title very odd and therefore decided to speak with the producers about it.
The drama was put together by Globe Productions, the same company that staged ‘Romantic Nonsense’, ‘You May Kiss the Corpse’ and the ‘Gallery of Comedies’, one of the greatest comedies ever produced in Ghana.
According to Globe Productions, the whole idea was to revive the culture of theater in Ghana and make sure Stage Theater becomes a very professional and lucrative venture once again.
The producer, Latifa Bataima Abubakar, explained to NEWS-ONE that “the title is just a creative one to catch attention but actually the production is very professional and worth attending.
No one wants to have idiots in society and we are not praying for that.”
“But truth is many people we consider as idiots in society and actually would not want to listen to them actually have the solutions to our challenges and if we would be just a little tolerant to their views, we would learn a whole lot.
“This is both biblical and Koranic. In this play for instance, you find an idiot who has served so many wise masters that he actually has observed best practices among the wise and he actually says all the wise things and offers the wise solutions but hardly practices them.
This is a high voltage must-see production,” Mr. Abubakar added.
The play talks about a young couple living large because the man has inherited his late brother’s property. Despite all they have, the marriage is on the rocks.
Expressing their emotions towards each other is one big problem. One midnight, in the midst of a very heated argument, they have a visitor.
‘Thank God for Idiots’ addresses the questions on who this visitor is, whether the visitor is  the ghost of his late brother, the purpose of the visit at that ungodly hour and whether this visit  would be good or bad news for the couple.
The drama would be staged twice tonight at the National Theater. The first production is at 5pm and the second one at 8pm. The show also moves to Takoradi on 7th July and to Kumasi ending of July 2012.

Essien Still Loves Nadia

There is nothing wrong with going back to your ex, as old firewood burns better than new ones.
Chelsea star Michael Essien and Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari might have ended their amorous relationship due to their egos or whatever you will call it, but that does not stop them from being friends.
We know so much about their relationship but not all of us knew the beginning of what has now turned sour.
The two were a thing and after sometime, they decided to call it off.
With Nadia’s beauty, every man would do anything to get her. She attracts enough attention everywhere she goes.
Essien on the other hand is one of the affluent young men in the world.
He is well-to-do and plays for a rich team that has just won the UEFA Champions League.
Even before the triumph, his well-to-do nature had always attracted young ladies who were ready to devour and make away with some of his cash.
Ego will always be a problem for these two personalities.
There had been rumuors that the Chelsea star dumped the beautiful actress, though not confirmed, as events after their break-up left many to speculate.
TV3 newscaster and host of Diva’s Show, Nana Aba Anamoah, celebrated her birthday earlier in the week.
Yesterday, she gathered some of her close friends and some Ghanaian celebrities for a private party inside Villaggio Primavera.
That was a perfect time for the two lover birds to make up. But it didn’t look like it was planned. Nadia was the first to make it to the venue.
After several others had arrived, Essien and former captain of Black Stars Stephen Appiah showed up together.
After exchanging pleasantries, he occupied a seat just opposite the actress.
The two didn’t look like they wanted to talk to each other – blame it on their egos- but they occasionally stole glances at each other.
After alcohol was put into action, the two joined the spontaneous discussions and started teasing each other.
Like magnet and metal, the two got close to each other and asked for photos to be taken of them – something that the other guests gladly supported and cheered.
As some shouted “they are back”, others applauded them. The two seemed to have found a way to get closer to each other once again, courtesy Nana Aba’s party, after their failed relationship; but as to whether they love each other, we are not sure.
When GhanaCelebrities.Com asked if they will consider a comeback, Essien said, “Ask Nadia”. She also said, “Ask Essien”.
What GhanaCelebrities.Com gathered is that they would love to give it a shot again but who will come forward?
Egos playing out again!
You can make your own judgments from the pictures.
Though it was alcohol working most of the time, they were still enjoying each other’s company!
