Nigeria’s movie industry has again been jolted by the death of one of its famous stars.
Barely a month after the shocking death of veteran actor Sam Loco Efe, one of the country’s popular actresses, Geraldine Ekeocha has passed on.
Nigeria’s Street Journal reported that she died on Sunday September 4, 2011.
Colleague actresses have since been paying tributes to Geraldine who acted in a lot of Nollywood movies.
The cause of her death could not be ascertained by the Journal at the time of filing its report.
However, gistmaster.com said the actress died after a fibroid operation in a hospital in Enugu, Nigeria.
Geraldine Ekeocha has acted in over 80 Nollywood movies including ‘Heavy Storm’ and ‘Tears In Marriage’.
The news of the death was confirmed by actress Tonto Dikeh who has been tweeting her condolences to the family on social network twitter.com.
