Adrianne Palicki and 'The Rock' join 'G.I. Joe 2'

Adrianne Palicki, who starred as the title character in the rejected NBC pilot about the famous superheroine, has joined the cast of the sequel "G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes," director Jon Chu ("Justin Bieber: Never Say Never") confirmed.

Deadline reports that Palicki will play classic "G.I. Joe" character Lady Jaye, in a cast that includes returning "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" actors Channing Tatum and Ray Park.

Another high profile cast member, playing the character of Roadblock (best known in the 1980s animated series for speaking in rhymes), is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who has been tweeting to his fans about training for the role on a farm: "96 degrees. Just heard the horses say 'what the f*** is wrong w you. Get inside.'"

Bruce Willis is also being eyed for the role of original "Joe," Joe Colton, in the sequel, according to Deadline.

Not everyone will be returning from the original film. Rachel Nichols tweeted back in March that she will not be returning, apparently along with Dennis Quaid and Marlon Wayans. Even Joseph Gordon-Levitt – Cobra Commander himself – said he will not be returning (he is currently at work on another sequel, "The Dark Knight Rises").

Do you think the new cast members will make for a great sequel? Can Palicki and "The Rock" pull off these iconic characters? Share your view below.

Venus Films pardons Yvonne. Will the Film Producers Association follow suit?

It has taken Yvonne Nelson too long to apologize to the film producers Association of Ghana for the reason that, the film producers did not issue any official letter to her that she was banned. Many people are still baffled as to why she has come out at this stage to apologize since she said she had not been banned.
At the time she was granting interviews to media that she has not been banned, Yvonne had already sent official apology to the C.E.O of Venus films Abdul Salam that she knew she had wronged him for not completing the shoot of “4Play Reloaded.
According to Abdul Salam Mumuni, when Yvonne came to apologize during the early stage of the brouhaha, he advised her to go and apologize to FIPAG through the media which she declined.
All things being equal Abdul Salam has finally announced to the general public that he and the entire Venus Films team have officially forgiven Yvonne Nelson and soon as the film producers lift her ban. He will use her in his new movie titled “The Assassins” which will feature other movie stars and some new faces in the industry.

Ato Kwamena Dadzie Divorces Wife

Ato Kwamena Dadzie, news editor of Joy FM, has divorced his beloved wife despite the biblical admonition in Mark 10:7-9 that “a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

The marriage lasted some three years and details of the divorce are still sketchy. News-One gathered however that for close to year now, Ato and his wife had constant misunderstandings over who should play what role at home and which of them had the final say.

Ato, aside being a journalist, is an author and a satirist with a hallmark of humor and wit.
Though he has not passed public comments on the divorce, he has changed his status on his Facebook page from married to divorce and has written what seems like a confirmation on his official blog.“I have heard most, if not all, of the rumours about my marriage. Some just made me shake my head.
Most others made me laugh. I enjoyed them all. But it’s time to end the rumours and announce to the world formally that my marriage of three years has broken up. I would love to spill the beans and speak openly about how it came to this. But for very good reasons, I can’t. For now, all I can say is that marriage has been one of the few ventures in my life that I committed and dedicated everything I had to. I gave it my all and I did everything I humanely could to make it work. It just wouldn’t work,” Ato wrote on his blog.

He continued by saying, “So both of us decided that we were better off going our separate ways for, as Lucky Dube said, it is ‘better to be alone and be happy than be with someone and be unhappy.

Majid To Win Best Actor With ‘SOMEWHERE IN AFRICA’

Finally the Producers of the movie(Heroes Production,And Raj Films ) “Some-where In Africa “ are happy to hear Majid Michel and a few other movie stars like Eddie Nartey, Martha Ankomah, Ebi Bright,Zita,Helen Asante etc say with confidence that "Somewhere In Africa" is the movie they would like to keep for future reference.

Although I did not get the opportunity to watch the full movie, after seeing about close to 30 minutes of it, i can say with confidence that is far different from the other types of movies we have been seeing in town.

Trying to get Majid Michel to know why he mentioned 'Somewhere in Africa' as his best movie, he told us that he could not wait for the premiere of this movie. The premiere of Somewhere In Africa is just like my birthday and I just can't wait for the day” he said.

He also added that although he has won many awards, he believes somewhere in Africa will win him more awards. “I will definitely win the best actor in Africa awards with this movie because I did my very best in it,” he added.

Somewhere in Africa is a story of Geode, a cry of Africans, the cries of humanity, the effects and defects of military government with soldiers everywhere with foolish wars to fight, the tears of abuse, some of it factual, most of it fiction but all of it are true and frequent happenings in Africa.

Rihanna: Men Are Hunters

RIHANNA has compared men to hunters. And she's not on about the Hunter from Gladiators who used to date Ulrika Jonsson. The Bajan singer believes blokes love to chase women, which is why she likes to keep her admirers on their toes.

Rihanna said: "I'm open to love. But guys should have to earn it because, the minute they get it, they want something else."Men are like hunters, they like the chase, so you have to keep 'em guessing. I'm like that too. I get bored fast. So if someone can make me laugh, that's the best."

Chancers dreaming of having a crack at her when she comes to the UK this summer better stock up on whoopee cushions then.

But the singer, headlining V Festival in August, is also open to more serious blokes.

She said: "I'm turned on by different things. It could be the way he looks. It could be his intelligence. It's really a spontaneous thing."But her hordes of male fans should know that, if they do achieve the impossible and bag a date, it'll be hard if they're not in the music business.

She told Cosmopolitan mag: "It can be intimidating to guys to date someone in this industry.

"It's really hard to find a guy who doesn't care about that stuff. Right now, it's easier just having my career to focus on."Any man would struggle having a relationship with Rihanna while she's on her Loud Tour. When not performing the singer gets on the sauce and parties with her mates.Following her gig in Las Vegas last Saturday she opted against putting her feet in a tub of hot water at her hotel in favour of hosting an afterparty at Club Nikki.

One man who is having a go is rapper and ex-boyfriend DRAKE. He joined Rihanna on the Canadian leg of her tour and enjoyed a few nights out on his home turf.

She has denied they are in a relationship, despite flirty pics of them surfacing online.

Keeping him on his toes, see.

Nollywood And Ghallywood Settle Rift

Recall that the fight between Ghanaian movie industry, christened Ghallywood and Nigerian movie industry Nollywood made headlines last year. It was the battle of work permit fees, and the cost of it in these two countries.

However, we gathered from reliable sources among Nollywood stakeholders that all the rift created last year between the two movie industries have been settled.

According to the information, top Nigerian movie producers like Madu C. Chikwendu, directors, Actors Guild of Nigeria,AGN President,Segun Arinze and top Ghanaian actors who have turned regular faces in Nigerian movies,Van Vicker and Majid Michel had a round table discussion in Nigeria and came to the conclusion that Ghanaian actors and actresses will not again be taxed or chased around in various movie locations as a result of unpaid work permits.

Nigeriafilms.com was equally informed that Nollywood stakeholders had a meeting with Ghanaian foreign affairs, where it was candidly stated that Nollywood is exempted from work permit fees.

As revealed, all Nigerians who are doing business or own business outfits in Ghana are expected to get their work permit before engaging in such activities, while Nigerian actors, actresses, producers and directors who wish to work in Ghana are free, as nobody will impose any fees on them.

It could be recalled that Ghanaian government last year passed a bill that requires all foreigners to purchase a work permit of $200 dollars to $1000 dollars, depending on the type of business venture. As the bills did not exclude any kind of business, Nigerian film makers who find delight in working task Ghana were asked to pay their work permit of $200 dollars or no deal.

This actually created a tussle between the two movie industries, as AGN created task force to hunt and harass all Ghanaian actors and actresses who work in Nollywood,to pay different amounts of money in the name of working permit.
